Assam Land Record Assistant Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 579 Posts

The Directorate of Land Records & Surveys, Assam, has issued a fresh advertisement inviting online applications for the post of Land Record Assistant (LRA) under the amalgamated establishment of District Commissioner's offices, excluding Sixth Schedule areas.

According to the official notification, candidates who completed the six-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, and were declared proficient in the mandated examination in both Survey and Settlement subjects before 13 August 2026 may apply, subject to the remaining eligibility conditions.

The fresh advertisement cancels the earlier advertisement dated 14 March 2026. Candidates must carefully read the new notification before applying.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

1. Passed the Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training from Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati-40.

2. Been declared proficient in the mandated examination in both Survey and Settlement subjects through an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam, before the commencement of the Government notification dated 13 August 2026.

3. Computer proficiency with a minimum typing speed of:

   • English: 30 words per minute.

   • Assamese/Bengali: 15 words per minute.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years

• Maximum Age: 40 years

• Age Calculation Date: 1 January 2026

Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per the Government Office Memorandum specified in the advertisement.

Salary / Pay Scale

The selected candidates will receive the following pay scale:

₹14,000–₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹6,200 (PB-2)

Usual government allowances will be admissible according to the applicable rules.

The selection process comprises a written examination and a computer proficiency skill test, followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates.

1. Written Examination

Paper I • 80 marks • Objective-type MCQs

• Mathematics (Class X standard): 10 marks

• Conventional Survey: 50 marks

• Modern Survey: 20 marks

• Negative marking: 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer

2. Computer Proficiency Skill Test

Paper II • 20 marks • Practical test

Assesses English and Assamese or Bengali typing.

3. Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents and self-attested copies as required by the Selection Board.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The prescribed minimum marks do not guarantee selection. The final merit list is based on aggregate marks in the written examination and skill test, subject to eligibility and document verification.
