Gauhati University has released the official notification for the B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET-2026) for admission to the Bachelor of Education programme for the academic session 2026. Candidates who have completed their graduation or post-graduation can apply online through the Samarth portal.

Exam Pattern: The test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions worth 4 marks each, for a total of 400 marks, to be completed in 2 hours. Each wrong answer carries a penalty of 1 mark; unattempted questions are not penalized.
The question paper is divided into five sections: General English (100 marks), General Knowledge covering Indian History, Polity, Science and Current Affairs (120 marks), Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability (80 marks), Current Indian Education including NEP 2020, SSA and RMSA (60 marks), and Ethics and Teaching Aptitude (40 marks).
Cut-off Marks: 80 marks for unreserved category candidates and 60 marks for EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
Test Centres: Candidates can choose from 17 centres across Assam including Guwahati, Nagaon, Nalbari, Barpeta, Jorhat, Dhubri, Rangia, Morigaon, Goalpara, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Pathsala, Biswanath Chariali, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar. Each candidate must select three preferred centres while filling the application.
Application Fee: Rs. 2,000 plus applicable bank transaction charges.
