The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has officially released a recruitment notification for 9,195 posts of Constable (Technical & Tradesmen) and Constable (Pioneer). This is a major central government recruitment opportunity open to eligible male and female Indian citizens who are ordinarily residents of their respective States and Union Territories. Post Details
This recruitment is for two categories of posts:
Category 1 — Constable (Technical & Tradesmen): Total vacancies: 9,175 (9,096 Male + 79 Female). These posts are filled on a domicile/state-based pattern — candidates must be ordinarily residents of the state they apply under. Assam has 288 vacancies (286 Male + 2 Female) under this category.
Category 2 — Constable (Pioneer): Total vacancies: 20 (all Male). These posts are filled on an All India basis — any candidate from any state/UT can apply. Trades available: Mason (13 posts) and Electrician (7 posts).
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-3: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 per month as per the 7th Pay Commission. In addition, candidates will receive allowances including DA, HRA, and other central government benefits as per rules.
Educational Qualification
- For most CT (T&T) trades: Matriculation or 10th Pass from a recognized Board
- For CT (Motor Mechanic Vehicle / MMV): 10th Pass + 2-year ITI certificate in MMV trade + 1 year practical experience
- For CT (Driver): 10th Pass + Valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License
- For CT (Pioneer) — Mason & Electrician: Matriculation or 10th Pass from a recognized Board
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Most Trades: 18 to 23 years
- CT (Driver): 21 to 27 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service rendered
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): PwD candidates are NOT eligible for this recruitment
Important Note on Assam Domicile
Since Assam does not issue a Domicile Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate, candidates from Assam are NOT required to submit one. However, their selection will be subject to verification of residential status from the concerned District Authorities.

Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in the following stages:
Stage 1 — Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must meet the physical efficiency standards prescribed for their gender and category.
Stage 2 — Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Weight, and Chest measurements will be checked as per prescribed norms.
Stage 3 — Computer-Based Test (CBT): The CBT will be conducted in English and Hindi only (not in regional languages).
- Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, English/Hindi
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
Stage 4 — Trade / Skill Test: Candidates will be tested on their respective trade skills.
Stage 5 — Document Verification (DV)
Stage 6 — Medical Examination
Note: PwD candidates are not eligible. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
